The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, relevant work experience in either a combo private/public accounting setting or straight public accounting experience that combines technical and management responsibilities with hands-on work. Reporting to | Controller 

TASTE SUCCESS | As our Senior Manager, Accounting at HexClad, this person plays a crucial role in overseeing financial reporting, general ledger management, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. This individual provides expert technical accounting guidance on complex issues and leads the team in preparing accurate financial statements. With a focus on driving process improvements, they also manage audits, implement system optimizations, and collaborate cross-functionally to support strategic business initiatives. As a leader, they will mentor the accounting team while ensuring the accounting function is streamlined and aligned with HexClad’s rapid growth.  

  • Technical Accounting: Lead technical accounting research, prepare/review technical accounting memos and communicate technical accounting conclusions to internal stakeholders and external auditors. Provide interpretation of new GAAP and SEC rules and regulations and their potential effect on the business. Ensure clear and concise written documentation of accounting conclusions and accounting policies.
  • Transaction Support: Acts as a liaison between external experts, audit team and internal business leaders relating to significant business transactions. Drive the analysis and accounting processes to accurately record significant business transactions.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements. Ensure timely and accurate closing processes, including reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Internal Controls / Risk Management: Develop and maintain effective internal controls. Assess and mitigate financial risks, providing recommendations for improvements and optimization.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to drive business process transformation and change management. Identify opportunities for system enhancements and lead implementation efforts to ensure the scalability of financial operations.

An ideal candidate will have the following requirements:

  • 7+ years of relevant accounting experience, including 5 years at a Big 4 public accounting firm
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification (active or inactive) required.
  • Strong technical knowledge and application of GAAP and financial reporting requirements including financial statements and related footnote disclosures.
  • At least 4 years in a people management role, with experience leading, motivating and developing talent.
  • Experience with a major accounting ERP system (NetSuite preferred) and financial reporting software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in a fast-growing consumer goods, retail or eCommerce industry is a plus.
